Your ads are very hard to find. Make them easier to locate. If the Chitika ads aren't converting, replace them with Adsense 336 large rectangles, and use Chitika as default. Blend your ads into the background by changing the background and border colors to whatever the background is. Get rid of the "advertisement" label in your ad's box header, it's unneccessary and just keeps people from clicking.

There are a lot of more ways to optimize, but right now I'm sleepy and going to bed. Night night.

Ditto with the comments about blending your AdSense ads into your site better. Also consider putting a horizontal AdLinks unit between your top navigation and your site tagline, color-blended to match the colors in that spot, of course.

As far as the Chitika goes, I wasn't seeing ads that were relevant to your site. If I'm going to a rugby club fan site, I'm probably not looking to buy a Toyota car. See if they have ads available for online sporting event ticket sales, online team clothing/gear stores, fantasy sports leagues, etc. Those will be ads your visitors are more likely to click.

In the forums there is a horizontal add. I will try blending better today.

As for the chitika ads the demographic for my site is 18 - 50+ all in the high income earners.

Chitika does me a fair service but I need to get the google ads with more click throughs so I will try your suggestions of blending

Your site does not work well at an 800 resolution.

I can see it difficult for people to see the ads. I saw only ad link unit there.

The main place the ads are place

    - Inside news articles when you read them
    - At the top of the forums, (banner at top in rotating banner script)
    - a link unit after the first post int he forums
    - A banner just above the quick reply

    - A banner on each page apart from the front page

The traffic on my site is mainly in the forums with only marginal views ont he news page which is why there is not a lot in those sections.

get either a link bar, or a horiz ad at the very bottoms of your thread pages!

these preform pretty well compared to toher forum ads. the reader needs somewhere to "go" once they read the thread.
