Google Fraud Email - Be careful.

I have been doing affiliate marketing for over 5 years so that has helped me to easily see what is likely to be a fraudulent email and a real one.

The email above is fraudulent and if you click on a link and login then they could clear either your adwords account or adsense or even something else.

From many different things you can tell this email is fraudulent. Even from what the email says itself. This is definately a real Amateur who's done this. For a start I can't see Google giving away 500,000 just like that. Another thing is Google will never use their competitor, Yahoo for their email address in their contact details, there are also spelling and grammer mistakes. Are these people really serious here.

Hope you all be careful and if this has been posted previously, I couldn't find it on here.

 

Thanks for the warning, first I've heard of it. Which link are you referring to though? The google link just goes to Google.com...as far as I can tell.

 

I agree that the Yahoo email should have been a dead give away... I could maybe see someone falling for a gmail address, but not for a different site entirely.

I once got an email saying my MasterCard was stolen and to send my pin for verification. Had the email not said "OMG ur card waz stelon" I'd maybe have fallen for it

Either way though, thanks for letting me know which email to not bother opening.

The 'Google Giveaway Team' have a Yahoo email address. Smells of fish to me.

 

I'm also wondering what link it may be now. By looking at it, it is not making you want to click on a link to login to your account. I should have read it a little further I guess.

I have taken a further look at it and I guess they are making their money from you having to call them and pretending they are google so then once you get the bill you will end up blaming google when they had nothing to do with it. Either that or they will tell you to give alot of personal information and then they will steal your identity.

I've deleted the email now anyway.

 

Certainly it is a fraudulent email. Most probably if you contact them for them they will ask for processing fee that you would have to pay and after that they will register another yahoo id to scam someone else. It is a typical 419 scam procedure.

Hi guys,

I received the same e-mail posted above from an alleged google prize. I assumed it was a scam but since they only asked to reply my name and e-mail I said what the heck let's see what they reply. Anyways they responded it was confirmed I was the winner and I should contact http://wahalauk.com/ to arrange for the delivery of my prize. I sent them an e-mail asking to confirm if they actually had any package for me and this was the reply I received:

I also got a mail from google like this 1 months ago.I had some confusions in that time but now i understand the true...thank for your warning.
