It could be in theory, but to be honest you're probably better off concentrating on other social networks, particularly Facebook. Unfortunately Google+ just isn't as popular with users.

 

I agree that Google+ is not as popular as Facebook, twitter, etc., but it is still possible to get some quality traffic from Google+.

 

Google plus is helpful but you must need to post well optimized content. You have to write a separate message to promote your business, service or product.

Here is how to write well optimized content for Google+:
1. Must have a title
2. Must have 3 - 5 #tags related your business, service or product.
3. Should focus important point using Bolt, Italic etc.
4. Must insert link / image

Note: If your Google+ post is well optimized it might come in google search result and it should help you to get thousands of targeted traffic that other social network can't.

Google+ is important for traffic but as compare to other social media like fb, twitter, Instagram it has less audience.

I mean, it's free to use Google+, so why not use it? But it's true; it does not bring as much traffic as other social media platforms. But it's worth the try and effort.

 

In marketing, every platform is a possibility. Like any other social media sites Google+ is free to use so why not take advantage of it, right?

Its helpful in getting organic traffic, so customize your content properly with the targeted keywords to get good amount of traffic.

 

I think it is still essential to have it setup properly anyways even if it doesn't count for much, all you need is that one user that does use Google+ for looking up your business and it's still worth pushing the traffic to your website or major milk cow traffic bringer like let's say Facebook which it self brings traffic to your website. In my opinion if you wanna be seen sign up and setup everywhere.

 

Oh and don't just stick to the standard/traditional social media stuff. Alot of other pages that act as like a yellow pages for your site like Yelp wher eyou can claim ownership of your page and basic setup is free, do it. Claim your business name on those pages, update your business info on it and always make sure those add link up to your webpage, never know a lead from those unsuspecting add pages bring the right clients to your site!

from my experience, google+ is not good.

 

Just set-up your Google+ profile with your most updated infos and links. You could also get some plugins in Wordpress (if you use it) to link your website to your Google+ profile, so Google could improve a little your ranking.

 

Do you have mass followers? If not, then I would not really rely on any one social network...
Being socially active will tell google that you are socially active, thats about it, so if you want
to increase traffic, then create high quality content, and there are various means of quality
content, then obtain high authority niche backlinks, over time, and if you have done things
right, then your traffic should increase, then repeat your steps to increase traffic from that...

Since I do not have million followers, then I consider social networks
as social proof to google that I am active, nothing more then that...

 

Might as well include it if you are using an autoscheduler like Hootsuite. Google indexes some of the posts and especially the pictures can be a great source of traffic. I wouldn't spend a whole lot of time there to be honest but pushing out content to google can't hurt if one of your goals is to be found on google
