The Pirate Bay isn't doing anything illegal, though. They're running a valued service in their country -- a country with no regulations on that type of business.

That being said, if Google allows AdSense there, they better hope for primarily Swedish consumers :)

What's most shocking is Google Ads being placed on the same webpage which offers RICKY MARTIN video downloads. What the hell's the world coming to?

oh i read some of them letters they have, they are quite funny, but even if the site is "legal" wouldnt alarm bells be ringing over at Google HQ

i mean alot of newspapers and blogs cant put quite an ugly spin on this, giving google bad publicity [then again all publicity is good publicity ;) ]

;) not thing illegal of course ;)

I, personally, would say that torrents sites prolly violate the policies specifically the section below.
    *****************
Any other content that promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others

Is the pirate bay infringing on copyright anymore than google (photocopying all those copyrighted library books)?

The Pirate Bay is legal in their home country.

Google's digitizing of copywritten books is legal per fair use.

Both seem OK based on the terms of service -- unless the law in the US is the only law Google goes by?

Piratebay use the option of public access, they dont release the software just help it flow.. the middle man but still its illegal in certain ways but i think its up to google to decide if its best to close them or not.. but if im google i would think.

PiratePay , millions of people and viewers, thousands of clicks, lots of money for google... Google needs money so..
