Got scammed twice in a month - Does this prove that I'm stupid ?

    Hello ,

So , I got scammed twice in one month . One for $14 and one for $50 . I don't know why I always trust people and pay all the money in advance , I usually say It's just $50 so even if I got scammed , it'll not be a big problem . But after I get scammed I feel really bad , not just for the money but I feel like "I'm stupid" and "Why are people so bad " . For both cases , I didn't make a paypal dispute because it's digital related products so it wouldn't help alot . Why would somebody scam somebody else for as low as $14 ?

I'm thinking about harming the guy who scammed me for $50 , Maybe I can use a VPN connection and keep trying to login to his account many many times , when the ip gets blocked , I can change it to another one and at the end , He will get his account limited and paypal will ask him to verify his identity . He is already on a non-verified account , so this might make him some problems . Shouldn't it ?

Really , I started to lose trust of almost everybody online :( .

Never pay someone in advance. It's so easy to get money from someone and run away from them on the internet.

As much as possible, I use middlemen for money of upwards of $10 if the person I'm buying from doesn't want me to get the goods first.

You don't sound stupid to me.Just a bit too trusting is all.You won't be letting that happen again right? Just chalk it all down to experience.A mistake is not as bad of a mistake if we learn from it.:)

    Sorry to heard about that
many people get scammed just because they go for the goods/service with "cheap price". Cheap service/product is actually mean crap goods/service or scam sign

You shouldn't trust anyone blindly. Before dealing with anyone, check his previous reputation, iTraders, etc.
I have also gotten scam for many times, but this doesn't mean that we should loose hope.
Its not your loss if people have scammed you, its their loss.

If he is not verified, merely raising a dispute will get his account limited and he will need to provide some identity..
You do not have to do anything illegal for that mate.

Having been scammed once or twice over the years, I can relate to what you're feeling. Basically, though, if things sound too good to be true, they probably are. I know everyone says that but it's typically a correct assumption. And I don't think it means you're stupid...maybe just a bit naive, but if anything it will teach you to be a little less trusting and to do more research about who you're buying from. It would only be stupid if you got scammed and didn't learn anything from it! But my heart goes out to ya, lots of scammers out there... :(

    Poor you..
The only thing you should do I guess is learn a lesson and make sure that this does not happen to you in future. As far as those scammers are concerned. They will drag to hell and burnt to ashes

You aren't stupid, I have been scammed many times in the past but that is one of the ways you learn to watch out. I know how you are feeling, but just try and forget about it, and I would still try opening a dispute on paypal even though they are digital related products. I am pretty sure they will give you a refund if you open a dispute.

First and foremost, scam prevention is more important and effective than "recovery from a scam". I know you hate this "who-doesn't-know" statement. But sometimes what people need is a reminder esp. when they panicked.
