Graphic Editing Programs - Pros and Cons

    I've noticed alot of people use different programs on this forum for logo design, etc.

    What I know of: Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, FreeHand

    What exactly are the pros and cons of each? I know Fireworks and Photoshop are similar (I personally use Fireworks and didn't know what PS was when I started).

    I've seen some really neat designs by some members, and I always wonder how and on what they create them in.

    It would be nice of some people could share some tips on the programs they use, and why that program. Thanks for any help.
