For those of you who were following my story about how yahoo wrongfully terminated my account, let me tell you that yahoo gave me no help what so ever. After almost 2 weeks being offline and constant emails and phone calls to yahoo, I was fed up and just decided to purchase a new domain.

I didn’t want to do this because my page rank but I had to get my site back up and running. The good thing is that I was able to get the same domain name, but just changed to .biz instead of .com

I just want to say that yahoo totally stuck me, and they treated me like I was a nobody. I am extremely dissatisfied with them; their customer service just flat out fumbled the ball over and over.

I have contacted them today by email and told them I request this months payment for my domain refunded to me, and that I want to be reimbursed for the money I spent calling them from China. In all $112.95, I have no idea if they will, or even if they will reply (which they didn’t reply to several of my previous emails when I was trying to get this issue resolved)

    I guess we’ll see.

Any sane Webmaster never considers Yahoo for running online business in any respect. Web hosting/domain names is not their core business and your consideration for Web hosting should be based on specialized service providers in the domain name selling category.

Webhostingtalk.com are good for this stuff. Should make a post there, and check reviews over there too before you buy.

Be careful on webhostingtalk. You'll get the same type of characters as Yahoo (but smaller companies).

Thing is, you get what you pay for. If your paying low fees for hosting then don't expect quality.

Some times at beginning, people think tht they have to run just for one year and thus go towards yahoo but it's not the right way to start

I always stay away from any "cheap" domain names. Enom/Domainsite/Namecheap/Godaddy/Tucows have always been great with no problems.

This is not accurate, pricing may influence but not determine.

I have a hosting that charges me $1 per month, has been around since 1998 and my external monitoring service says it is up 99.98% of all time since one year ago when I signed up for this 1GB webspace pacakage.

To redirect your site you should have access to your old COM, but if you lost the domain there is nothing you can do with redirections.

Well, well, well, thank for sharing your experience. I'm having second thoughts on using Yahoo hosting services.

I still have control of the .com through the register Melbourne IT. I cant figure out how to redirect from their domain management page. Does anyone have any dealings with Melbourne IT? Perhaps I should start another post with that in the title. They are the largest seller of domains in Australia, someone may know.

Yes I would not suggest going through yahoo. They left me out in the cold, they ignored me, and they wrongfully terminated my account. They did however reinstate my account and apologized for the mistake, but the fact is my .com website is now in limbo because their stupid mistake.
