    Happy 230th to the USMC! Semper Fi to all Marines, young, old, serving and retired! That and the brats! Myself included!!!

    My dad, E5 USMC Vietnam Era Vet had us stream in the following tunes http://www.usmc.mil/band/m_bandcd.nsf/BirthdayBallMusic?OpenView over our phone system via iTunes!

    We've got our American and Marine Flags flying today, and had a nice USMC B-Day cake complete with the USMC insignia!

    230 years of the few, the proud, the MARINES!!! H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y!!!

    Thank you for serving and protecting all of us, including us Marine Brats!!!

    Glad to see another Veteran's Day post over here in DP. I'm not going to get into the political issues of war, but I think we can all agree that "War is Hell." The Rocky Mountain News has a touching writeup titled "Final Salute" which tells the story of what happens when a Marine dies and the dreaded knock on your door occurs. I had difficulty reading this emotional story because my eyes kept tearing, but (as a former Air Force blue-suiter), I salute our men and women in uniform (and their familes), especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
