Has anyone actually seen stats by Google analytics yet ?

I have implemented the javascript allmost 24houres ago and I'm still waiting for my first stats. I know the service couldn't take the load yesterday but hey should adjust their message if they know it's wrong !

Aside from these launch problems the service looks great ... now if I only could get actual stats

 

I hope they will soon go for real time stats.

 

I highly doubt it will be real time. Even with some of the most advanced technology as far as web analytics go, it's very hard and VERY cpu intensive to do real time.

 

I agree fsmedia, realtime stats seem very unlikely seeing the amount of data we're talking about here.

 

Yup, I added the javascript to one of my sites ~18 hours ago, still 'waiting for data'.

Did the big G underestimate the demand for this sort of thing?

 

I also added 24+ hours ago. Looks like everyone is waiting for data. I guess we caused a little deadlock in googleworld

 

I'm another one of those who are still waiting. I hope the stats appear soon.

Is it just fine if you are still using the statscounter tracking code?

 

I'm not removing my statcounter code before G-analytics works.

 

It really pisses me off that they don't put up a notice of how / why / when we can expect the service to work. Why do they even have a blog ? Google, let us know what's up (or down), we understand stuff can go wrong but not dealing with it makes it so much worse !

 

I'm at about 24 hours now and have no stats...

 

I'm also at about 26 hours. I wish they would at least make an announcement on when the stats will be ready.

i'm picturing servers on fire over there from all the traffic.

 

Is it really fair to get pissed off about a problem with their brand-new, free service? I have a feeling that this will be a good service, and historically Google is pretty reliable.

I have my statcounter stats, which is enough for me to deal with right now anyway. I'll check analytics in a few days and if it's up it's up - if it isn't, then it isn't. No big deal considering it's free.

36 Hours for me - no stats yet! I was so excited when I heard they offered urchin free but ... unless they speed up their service, I won't be using it much.

I'm still dreaming about a time when google will be able to provide real-time stats , be it for analytics, adwords or adsense.

 

This will indeed be a good service and you are right, I actually have no right to complain but a little user-friendly notice of why there are no stats yet would be called common sense in my book. Also, why do they have a blog ? Only to announce services ? Their blog is the perfect medium to explain people what went wrong ...

Btw, telling the world your service went down because to many people subscribed isn't anything to be ashamed about, not even if you are google. It only shows how much interest people have in Google services.

Another thing they could do is to give a real-time wait period on the interface, rather than just a generic "12 hours". Once it is up, I expect it to be pretty much real-time reporting. If Statcounter can do real-time with their relatively small number of servers, then Google really has no excuse for not being able to. The other thing is that without real time stats, it does not really achieve what they want - which is to give Adwords customers a better experience. With Adwords you can make changes now and see the results in an hour. You want to be able to track those visitors right away, and not have to wait 24 hours while their stats are compiled (and your Adwords spend potentially goes to waste.)

Normally they seem to limit the number of users when they're having problems getting something working.

I suspect that they are tracking all the visitors, just not processing them, so hopefully we will see stats right back to whenever we added the code to our site.
