    Hello,

Has anyone ever tried promoting products/offers on Linkedin? Community is big, community of professionals, who are ready to pay for new info. Has anyone tried promoting their own or affiliate products/links?

Promotion of products should be done sparingly, but providing helpful information and news about your products is ok as long as you give more than you receive. I suggest to join some groups related to your industry. It's very a good option where you can promote your products. Otherwise you can use paid advertising. Here are some useful advices http://www.ehow.com/how_7554125_use-linkedin-promote-business.html , http://www.technicallymarketing.com/index.php/2012/07/30/how-to-promote-your-business-on-linkedin-2/

LinkedIn is best for business to business marketing and networking. Those site selling consumer products I think will not get as much benefits as through Twitter and Facebook. Businesses those providing services or selling products to other businesses then it will be best platform in the world.

LinkedIn is mainly for professionals. It's a great place but Facebook is a lot better.

Yes, LinkedIn could be a nice venue to promote product or offers to professionals.
If your goal is to gain traffic and earn from it, you have to make use of other social media sites where you can promote a product or affiliate link.
There are other venues where you can promote your product or affiliate links. You just have to explore these venues as well.

I don`t find it a good place for products at all, I do however find it excellent for services and especially offline services.

Linkedin is not user-friendly. I tried to do something there, but without any success.
