Interesting time that you posted this thread. I am in the process of listing 40+ items on Ebay as a side project. I'm mainly just seeing what products have interest and then I will go from there. If you're curious, I've had a lot of international shipping questions, as I chose to only ship to the US. Something I will consider on my next go around is to calculate shipping costs worldwide and provide that to my customers.

My friend and I sell on ebay, summer can be slow but right before Christmas LOOOOOK OUUUUUT
and even after Christmas its good . We just sell collectibles out of my friends home but you can
look into wholesalers, liquidation (buy low sell high), dropshipping. Some people sell digital products like videos
and such on cds. You cannot sell digital downloads anymore.

eBay business is great. You can go to whole seller's and ask them for images and post them from your a/c. keep less margin profits. talk to the shipper's. keep every thing clear and ethical.

You will do good without huge investment.

eBay is a giant pain in the ass - I've been using it since I was 12 (haha). But seriously dude, trust me it's a load of bulls**t. First you have to get a Paypal account, verify it, attach it to your eBay, whenever you sell you have to pay a boatload of fees and half the time even when a transaction goes well you end up getting bad feedback but can't do anything about it since a seller can't leave negative feedback. eBay in my opinion is crap which is the reason why I stopped using it altogether. I would rather have my items unsold than sell them through eBay. Also sometimes if you're selling a large item eBay forces you to put a low postage and packaging price so you have to either charge more for the product (and loose business) or just sell it and make little or no profit (maybe even a loss). I also know that I'm too young to be using eBay anyway, you have to be 18 and even PayPal requires you to be 18. It was fine until they made changes to their feedback system. I had over 350 feedback on eBay and was a PowerSeller at one point.

Buying through eBay on the other hand is perfectly easy.

Ive been doing Ebay sales from my storefront for 2 years now, it has its cons and pros, if you are selling quality products, then its good, if your selling damaged or broke items, its bad.

Yea I tried ebay for a while but it's not THAT easy.

I purchased goods from china for about $280 it then took me 3-4 weeks to receive it, i then sold the stuff for around 700-800 but I got complaints and it was a struggle. Be sure you sell stuff that works and where people are unlikely to complain. My advice is to try an find some e-product and sell it. And make sure you know about all the fees that are taken by ebay and paypal.

It was not really worth it with all the complaints and the long waiting time.

Don't if you're not experienced with online business, it will cause you more headaches and frustration than it's worth.

Consider it wisely. What would be your goal?

Don't invest large sums if you're not sure about it.

You can make a living with ebay. It seem like ebay only favor buyers and neglect sellers. Did you know that ebay have enormous, ridiculous hidden fees? You have to deal with ebay seller fees plus unavoidable paypal hidden fees. Ebay bought paypal to hold a monopoly. We can't do anything about it. Those fees add up quick and big. If you want to do business with ebay, plan carefully. A mistake can cost you.

Dealing with ebay can be a headache situation.
