Has someone setup their adwords badly?

I've had the strangest adsense day today.

For months now I've been getting between .03 - .40 per click with the occasionaly surprise click of about .60-.80 per click but today out of the blue I've gotten only 4 clicks but each one was $1 minimum!

I don't see any ads that appear to be particularly new but I can't figure out why suddenly all my clicks are so high valued!? Did someone just setup an adwords campaign with higher bid per clicks? Or is it just a one of glitch that happens sometime. Either way I'm not complaining!

(This is the salsa and tango sites I have in my signature, not niche sites or anything, just a hobby I put some adsense onto.)

A bit different, but I once setup an ad with a typo in the URL.

I spent almost $100 sending traffic to a 404 page

Yeah, I have to say I kinda hate the idea of some guy logging on to check his adsense tomorrow and seeing he spent WAY more than he meant to.

I'd rather someone logged in and saw they spent a reasonable amount for some good conversions myself..

You have your good days and your bad days. Sometimes, AdSense matches up a high paying Adword ad on your popular pages and you start making good money. Another reason might be that you're getting CPM $$$ on that channel. That is, maybe you are still earning $0.50 per click and the other $2 is from CPM ads.
