Have you opened google.com in Opera 8.5? Weird!!

    I recently installed Opera version 8.5 as it is supposed to be free and ad-free.
    The first site that I tested was www.google.com

    To my surprise, a completely different site, horrendously formatted, opened. I thought it was some kind of home page hijack and probably teh homepage was opening.

    No! The url bar shows www.google.com.my (I am in Malaysia). All the internal links within the page and all over the site point to www.google.com, but open within the site!

    Any clues?

    I have always used Opera and have no idea of what you are talking about, better post a screenshot.

    Well, it has corrected itself, after a reboot and I did not even take screenshot of it earlier. Now it is working fine and hopefully it will continue to be so.

    It is a very good and fast browser, by the way.
