Have you turned on your Bluetooth?

Have you tried some tests on the underground and pubs and found lots of cell phones were turned on and used for 'toothing' ?

To play, you need you need to activate the Bluetooth facility available on your mobile phone, which will then show a list of people within a few yards who are also active. Then write a message and press send.

Toothing as they call it has turned into a Dating fad... lol seems reallly interesting.. though I haven't tried it yet..I rarely turn on my bluetooth because some say it can easily catch virus.. but would love to try this for fun...

what's more is that has generated some good business with some people..
What started as a joke became a fully fledged trend

I have tried it. Me and some friends were in a really BIG & busy restaurant and I turned my bluetooth on and there was a tonne of other people with theirs on too.

So I sent a few flirty msgs, as you do...thinking it was only a laugh as the restaurant is so big, no one would know it was from our table. So I'm sat there chatting to my friends and I notice this table of guys just infront of ours, all busy on their mobile phones so I chuckled and thought wouldn't it be funny if out of all the restaurant, the person I chose to annoy via bluetooth was sat right infront. Ok, turns out it was. He sent me this emo back of a smiley face and when he walked past me to leave the restaurant he winked at me and a few seconds later I got another msg asking for my number. I ignored it coz he was fugly. The end.

its pretty common arround where i live for people to send videos and pics randomly to each other. I have never done the msgs with random people before, though i have used it one a busy train when i knew a friend was on it.

Mine is always on as we pass messages around work. My phone comes with a built in firewall and virus scanner, so I am not too fussed about problems. I have never had problems in the past though on my previous phones with BT.

It's a good laugh! Especially taking a pic of something that someone is standing near and BT'ing it to them and see their confusion.

    Isn't it called bluejacking?

Anyway I used to do it and most people look weird at their phone 'cause they don't know where it's coming from. Alot of fun :) .

There is software for the Sony Ericson phones that does bluejacking. You enter a short message and hit the satellite button and it scans and sends the message to all users and reports back those it was succesful on.

Not sure if it's available for the Nokia series phones.
