Having a wisdom tooth out tomorrow

...Yeah but it's not going to be as fun as it sounds!!

Because its not totally emerged out yet it's gonna be a surgical job. They said theyre gonna have to slice the gum before they can get to it. Then theyre gonna tug it out, maybe have to chip away a bit of my jaw....and then sew it up again. May have a bit of sensation loss in my jaw but it's rare they tell me. Also it's going to take 40 minutes, thats 40 minutes of jaw openess, bloodiness and slicing/tuggingness.

    Shitting my brick

You won't even be able to feel that your mouth is open. The only part I hate about going to the dentist is that super bright light right in my eyes and I usually forget to bring sunglasses.

I had 4 taken out at once. It wasn't too bad. They gave me a pill before I went to the place (mom had to drive me) and I was out before I got there. Next thing I know I'm at home, complaining to mom that she won't let me watch wrestling LOL. The pills (percisets I think) were awesome. Wish I had some of those sometimes LOL

I sure hope the doctor gives you some strong anaesthetics before slicing your gum.

    Good luck.. *shudder*

If you're nervous, chow down a few beers before going for surgery lol :D j/k. Don't worry you'll be fine ;-) It's pretty funky that you won't feel you have a mouth or tongue after surgery :D :D

And most importantly -- keep the wounds clean until they heal.

I have just got back from surgery. I thought it wasn't too bad but the surgeon said it was one of the hardest shes ever had to do.

It took 40 minutes in the chair. She had to cut the cheeky tooth into 5 pieces. She cut the top off and then pulled out the 4 roots separately. She had to chip away quite a lot of bone around the tooth. She stitched it up. It's still bleeding a bit and I've got a bit of a headache but I survived!

I am King of the wisdom tooth!!

Thanks for all your comments (i'm going to go and pass out somewhere now!)

Just keep the gaze in place for at least 40min...Don't eat solid food today if you can, don't suck the blood or it won't stop and coagulate right.
Go get yourself a nice icecream around 5pm :)
Lot's of ice today would help too...And don't smoke!
Don't go to bed now, it doesn't help coagulating

Just pray that she got all the pieces. My guy didn't get em all. I had small pieces of teeth coming out of my gums for about a week afterwards. They didn't hurt too much cuz they were so small, but it felt weird having them come out.
