Here is an image of a tattoo sketch my buddy who just passed away had on his forearm. I would love to know how to
-remove artifacts, distortion, clean it up you know, make it look like a clean professional image, so i can get it printed/use it as my wallpaper, etc. It real means a lot to me. I have photoshop CS3 if that helps with what filters and stuff i need to use, but I am a real noob. Thanks, any help is appreciated!

for this kind of sketch, you better use vector editor like Corel instead of Photoshop.

Hey thx Patrick_, but i was hoping to take it further, totally clean it up, make edges smoothed, just so it looks like it was originally designed on PS or something, not hand-sketched, know what i mean? Thanks for your time though man!

OK, I misunderstood. I thought it should still look hand-sketched, but with better quality. To do what you want to do, you'll have to convert it to a vector. Your best option is to contract a professional (shouldn't cost too much).
