How to popularize a new blog

The assumption made is you already have good content ( good posts on your blog)

Things Already Done : Submitted to directories, search engines

Say you bought a domain past month and u want to make it popular . get good traffic how ???

Things i did so far ... Used Stumbleupon , Digg , Propeller , Twitter , Del.icio.us etc

But all didnot help that much may be i have not used them well

Can anyone help how to better utilize this social sites Stumbleupon , Digg , Propeller , Twitter , Del.icio.us or other good ones

Say you dont want to spend money now ... get some good traffic from social sites and search engines and then later on do some advertisements to make it more popular

Please anyone help me .. hope all are problems are explained

 

You can submit your blog to campaigns.

What is you have really great content about mathematics. And the "Other guy" has really great pictures of some celebrity doing something that is shameful?

Find your audience, then deliver the content. Just throwing up links is like haveing a really great store in a part of town that nobody shops.

 

You should do some networking. Leave some comments on other people's blog and they might notice your blog.

 

There's someone here in digitalpoint who made quite as leap from his previous rank to his latest pagerank. He used stumbleupon. may be you can ask him for some advise.

 

get backlinks from other blogs..then, you can fire you comment at their blog..
I think you should try implementing video marketing at youtube, break etc..

My favorite strategy is to be friends with bloggers in your niche. They can dump a few hits to your blog and eventually little by little they add up and you'll get a big blog in no time!

 

How would you befriend fellow niche bloggers?

You message them or what?

 

1)Leave good and useful coments on their blogs.
2)Use the trackback so you get more visitors.
3)Use your blog's RSS to get more traffic (feedburner,pingoat,pingler)
4)Use podcast (if you are using WordPress, Blogger, TypePad, BlogEngine.NET and Terapad platforms)
-Go to odiogo.com and register, it's free
-Download the plugin and submit your site RSS them.
-If successful, an audio player will appear on top of each of your blog posts, means all your article has been converted in to speech.
