Help me maximize my Adsense income for my website

    I am the owner of www.financialjesus.com - it is a blog about interesting stuff regarding money :)
    Currently I have 3 Google Adsense Ad Units on the website - all 336x280 pixels.

    The average Adsense daily income for the site with over 32 000 visitors in November was only 2,39 dollars/day.

    The 2 ad units on the right column have white background and I have tried to make them blend in with the site.
    The top ad unit just under the subscribe section in the right column has a CTR of 0,13%
    The second ad unit in the menu has a CTR just 0.04%

    The best working ad unit seems to be the ad I show inside my blog posts that are older than 7 days (to award my loyal readers) - it has a CTR of 0,31% - it shows up randomly at the beginning, middle or the end of the article. It also has an ugly yellow background and a text saying "Paying the bills" to make it stick out from the rest of the content.

    I currently do not use any text link units, but I guess its something I could improve on.

    What is your advice on pumping up my adsense income?
