Help Requested. How do my ads look?

    Hey everyone,

    I've been reading some the threads around here re: Adsense and, based on those, have a made a few changes to the ads on my blog. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some constructive feedback on my ad placement and formats...right now, my CTR is pretty poor and I would like to improve it a bit.

    The site is here:
    http://www.hdtvhelponline.com/blog/

    If you want specific questions I guess I would ask:
    1) Do I need to change the color schemes of the ads?
    2) Should I place the ads somewhere else than where they are currently appearing?
    3) Should I change the format of the ads?

    Thanks for any help anyone can provide :)

    i think the borderless ads are good

    try changing the darker blue to a lighter blue colour in accordance with your default link

    I would say the same thing for the Skycraper ad (a change from white to light blue).

    yup,
    let the skycraper's color same with the menu color at the right side bar.
    and maybe, you may attrack the visitors by avoid so much dark color.

    keep it up!

    Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I actually tried to set the link color on the Skyscraper to match the sidebar and the code (which follows):

    google_color_link = "1D79C9"; ==> should be light blue
    google_color_url = "FFFFFF";
    google_color_text = "FFFFFF";

    should do that but for some reason the link color still turns out white. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks again.

    Usually it is because the algorithm of Adsense assumes that the colour of the background and of the text are too similar (dark blue and light blue).
    So it will display the text colour in white, whatever the colour code you out for it.

    Have you tried different tones of blue?
    I doubt it will work, but we never know.

    Regards.

    I think you need a horizontal banner at the end of your page, because person who has read it, will be willing to go somewhere and ads can be the issue to go somewhere.

    You link unit is good.
    I should move the right ad (600X160) from the bottom to the top of the page (above "Syndicate" title) and remove the border from it.
    Also, you can place an ad under your link unit.

    Good luck :)

    Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I did have no border set on the right ad (600x160) but the text, url, & link all appeared white and didn't look too good. I tried to change the color on the Link to light blue but it just kept showing as white so I changed the border color to light blue instead.

    As for moving the 160x600 ad above 'Syndicate', I'm not sure I want to have 3 ads (the link unit, the 468x60 banner, and the 160x600 banner) on the top half of my page. I read somewhere that it is probably overkill and could actually hurt CTR.

    I don't know php but I was able to modify it so that a 468x60 appears end the 1st post and 6th post on the page. My CTR is up a little bit the last few days but I'm also getting more referral traffic from google which is probably contributing to the enhanced CTR.
