Horrible CTR

I have horrible CTR on my site http://www.writersbeat.com

Almost to the point it's not worth having adsense on it anymore. Is there ways I can improve the sites design and layout to boost the CTR or not really?

Advice would really help me out!

    Thanks,
    Daniel

First off it's a forum which is hard to get clicks on. Since as your members post more and more they becoming more "ad" aware and avoid clicking. You best bet it to make articles and embemmed the ads and submit them to social networking sites, hope they get big and people will click.

you can also try to fight ad blindness by making the ads stand out like it's done here in DP (top right)

Generally there are two ways to get a higher CTR... blending or standing out.

Blending works best by misleading people into clicking adsense by blending it into the website in such a way that the visitor isn't aware they are adsense and thinks they are part of your site. There is quite an art to this, but it does work very well indeed.

Secondly, as Pixads says, you can make your adverts stand out more and try from this point of view.

I agree with pixads ... try to make those ads visible. I went to your site and had to really look for the ads. Thing is , they are not in the content, so to me they weren't visible at all. I would suggest colour background to the ads to attract attention to them ...
