Looks like they have alot of content that is updated daily do they manually do this everyday, several times a day? I don't see any php scripts used or any javascripts to update content. What is the trick?

    You're being sarcastic, right?
The worlds (probably) largest collection of programming related scripts, and you think they update everything manually.
And what the hell... javascript for dynamic sites... uhh. yeh. Sorry to sound so harsh but really. ..wtf.

They probably use a CMS Content Management System like Mambo or similar, where is database driven and allows for easy management of the content pages. Bulding pages manually would be quite a chore.

Thanks for the reply much more informative and knowledgeable then the first reply to this thread. I didn't think it was done manually, I just didn't know how it was done.

They use a home-grown backend CMS type system. Frankly I think hotscripts is on the decline, they've become to high on themselves...
