    Hi All

Over a year ago 'Critters' showed us how to
quadruple CTR through the use of images. (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php)

It was, and still is a fantastic thread and really helped to boost my earnings.

As a follow up I decided to test whether the size of the image is a strong factor in the equation.

Surprisingly and counter intuatively, I discovered that the answer appears to be a pretty resounding NO.

Size of image doesn't seem to be a factor in whether people are more or less likely to click on a nearby ad.

My methodology was to create a 70 px image and a 40 px copy of the same image. Using some natty asp and two adsense channels I alternated randomly showed them to visitors to the left of a single google adsense ad.

After several thousand views the larger image had been clicked only 20 or so more times than the smaller version. The difference in number of clicks was well within the statistical margin of error, so sadly there is not much to be drawn from this experiment, except perhaps that times spent on the really tiny stuff might be better spend adding some good old fashioned content to our sites.

    Cheers

    Chris
