How can I create a Torrent website

After a lot of goggling I did not found any awesome answer for this simple question.

Which tools I may use to have such a thing?

It will be a private tracker, and I will include a forum.

So please help to know which tools I can depend on to have a secure and reliable torrent website.

It will not include any copy righted materials but all are free and open resources materials, so no illegal issues

Please I hope to get any help with this issue my friends.

I do not care a lot at all for eyes candy and I do not mind to have a standard looking website because I do care more for the contents.

But which one is more secured and keep updated and well developed my friend?

You can try torrenttrader which is also free. I just want to add that no matter which script you use you better know a lot of PHP and mySQL.

I am still trying to know how to have a torrent website.

Many advised on several places that tbdev is the way to go and it is the best script around. (i do not know if this is right or wrong).

I've tried several times to post in their forum asking about the way to install a torrent website, but no one replying me at all plus I did not found any tutorials or documentations for such a thing.

I am really looking forward to know how?

Also what are the required tools?

I see that there is the tbdev code plus the XBT Tracker and some other things that I do not understand its relationships even in between or as a standalone.

I hope you forgive my newbie to this area but really looking forward to do it and know about it.

First You Need To Have :

* Make a bittorrent tracker ( optional ) with something like snake bit ( useful post on how to do that : http://apcmag.com/create_your_own_torrent_tracker_in_a_few_clicks_with_snakebite.htm )

* you don't have to do anything else except getting a script that allows users to upload The torrent file , And when somebody download , the seeder will upload it to the leecher and you don't have any rule here except if you were a tracker .

- I recommend you to use the piratebay tracker .

I would like to have a private tracker based on an invitation system.

 

PirateBay's tracker is based upon a software known us OpenTracker. It's free and open source but needs a lot of Linux experience as far as I know. I would also like to point out that before thinking of software and scripts, did you think about the servers? Even if you got the scripts for free, you will need to pay a lot for the servers. You'll have to use a VPS or dedicated servcer since torrents, especially if you're running a tracker, will consume a great deal of bandwidth and you probably won't find a hosting provider that will let you run it on a simple shared plan and of course not a plan.
