    Hi,

I run a website related to laptops & the conversion rate is 0.6%. Is this normal for electronics related website?

How can I increase conversion rate?

    Thanks for helping.
    Cheers

Depends on the type of traffic (PPC, organic search, banner ads, etc.) and many other related factors, but there is always room for improvement.

What you can do to improve CR:
    Filter your traffic
    Work on your landing page.
Offer some incentives to make a purchase (discounts, prizes, etc.)

If you google it, you can find out an industry average for conversion rates. But, like alltheweb1985 has pointed out, a lot will depend on how targeted or untargeted your traffic is. You can consider putting logo's on your site from reputable companies that do services for you (I.E Fedex or UPS for carriers or a security checked badge from Mcafee, etc). You can also, like it was suggested offer time sensitive promo's.

Are you getting a positive ROI with a conversion rate of 0.6%?

As already mentioned in other replies, there are a lot of factors that influence conversion rates. Maybe you can consider running a survey on your site, asking your visitors firsthand what they think of the website, and what is preventing them from buying.

You could add live chat to your site. Some people won't call or email but they will do the live chat.

If I visited an electronic site some of my concerns before buying a product would be:

    1. Reputation of the seller (if u aren't newegg or amazon or something of that sort, you need to be able to convince your visitors that its safe to buy from your site.)
    2. Price. (When buying online its fairly easy to compare prices with other sites and I would usually buy from the seller who offers the best price).
    3. Incentives (If you have some incentive program or something of that sort where I get some credit/reward points for buying from your site, I would prefer your site over some site that doesn't have a similar program).
    4. Your site should be easily navigable (pages should load fast and details of products like images etc to should be accessible).
    5. Payment methods (you should accept all major forms of payments).

those some things that might help increase the conversion rate if you haven't already addressed those issues.

you'd better place the hot products on the obvious place of your site, your products must be definitely good. don't place too much advertise on your site.
