How Can I Make this possible? (website service)

I want to have a site where the registered members offer a service to the customers. The service is unimportant. For the sake of argument, they post paintings that they draw with fixed prices.

I want to take 10% of the profit they make. So, essentially it is a free market for them to post in, the only fee is the 10%.

note: the actual service is something else, something I have never seen on the net, so I might want to jack up the fee to 15% or so. (btw, this isn't some shady porn related thing, perfectly legit and original)

Id like each seller to have their own unique page with product/ asking price.
The important thing is:

• the customers have many payment options; paypal, neteller, all major credit cards, etc..
• I have a way of tracking all the transactions

Ideally the "ppl who sell paintings" have accounts on my site w/ credit$. They need x amount before they can withdraw it. This is to prevent scamming that may occur in this market. I think i need to have control of the $ in order for the idea to work. Although, I am working on alternate ideas of how to avoid being in control of the $.

I don't know much about buisnesses. What do I need to make it run besides a website/ and customers? A merchant account? Thanks for all the help.

 

There are many scripts available that will allow you to do this, but most that I've seen are based on auction sites. Basically you act as an escrow service and receive money from the buyer and send it to the seller, after taking your fee.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your idea sounds a lot like Yahoo's store hosting service.

 

as in ppl sell whatever they want and i get a cut? I guess it sounds like it. But, its not close.

keliix06- are you talking about php scripts? I know 0 aobut anything, so pardon my asking; will I need sepcial softaware that allows ppl to transfer funds with the script? or will the script take care of that?
