How Can I Move From Ipage To Bluehost Webhosting

I currently use Ipage hosting and I want to move to Bluehost in April.

I have about 5 sites on my Ipage host. Please, how can I successfully move from Ipage to Bluehost without losing any of my sites and search engine ranking. I contacted bluehost for help, but they charge $150 for this. I wanna do it myself.

    Please i need detailed instruction.

    Thanks

Are you aware that iPage/BlueHost are one and the same? Both owned by EIG, so you can expect a similar level of service at both.

Bluehost provides cpanel hosting where as ipage has its custom hosting control panel for managing the hosting

Here are the detailed steps to move to bluehost

When you signup at bluehost you will provide a domain name which will be your primary domain name, all the files of this primary domain has to be uploaded to public_html folder of your ftp

The other 4 domains are to be added as add on domains, you have to change the dns of the domains to bluehost nameservers before adding addon domains

You have to login to your cpanel account at bluehost and add the other 4 domains, this will create 4 subfolders in public_html, you have to upload the site files to respective folders

You can use mysql database wizard to create mysql database, users and use phpmyadmin to import the sql databases from ipage, dbs from ipage can be exported using phpmyadmin provided in their control panel

If your site uses mysql databases, You also need to change the database connection details in your site configuration files

    Hope this helps

    Thank you
