How can I remove a corrupt IE?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by NRLMedia, Apr 23, 2006.

My IE is corrupt and I cannot uninstall it. I need to completely delete it from my system without effecting anything important so I can reinstall it.

Anyone know how to do this?

It really puts me at a disadvantage when building sites and not being able to check IE.

    Thanks in advance.

You're probably better off just re-installing over your existing installation. But if you want to delete Program files/Internet Explorer it probably won't hurt anything, but do it at your own risk I'd just try a re-install.

I've already tried to and it doesn't work.

Where are the files to delete?

If you are running Windows XP and have the CD boot from the CD and try a *Repair Install*...

IE 7 is working fine for me. YOu may need to remove some items from your registry...but the problem is that IE is so intertwined with the OS that a repair/install maybe your only choice.

You'd have an easier time getting the devil to go skiing in Aspen. I swear, deleting that blasted IE file is nigh impossible.
