I started with my website 8 years ago (or something). Slowly developed it. It grew and grew. Then 18 months ago I added adsense. I already had content, links to that content, regular visitors and decent search engine traffic. With all that in place adsense now makes me a decent amount (though it doesn't pay the rent).

I believe that content is really the most important thing with Adsense, blog or site doesn't matter.

Providing good content and then obtaining high traffic to your blog/site should be your first goals.

Adsense isn't a very easy way to earn money for the newly beginners. If you don't have an all ready high traffic site under your hand, you will have to spend some time working before you can start earning a decent amount from Adsense.

Its a simple matter of numbers. The higher the traffic and CTR the more money you can make. First you work on traffic, do this by having a good site with good unique content that gets decent traffic. That is not an easy thing to accomplish to begin with.

I started my adsense account through blogger with 3 posts on it. IMO it's by far the easiest way to get accepted for an adsense account.

    Cheers,

Started with putting it on directories and then figured out that webmasters don't click on adsense.
