How do determine Market potential and pricing for a new product

    Hello there

    I am a management student, would like some help to finish my project.

    I would have to determine the market potential for Serious (Educational) Games in India. The target segment that this game would be intended would be anybody who Net salary is greater than 15000 and who falls under the age group of 21-55. The normal way of deducing the market potential from the countries population does not seem really convincing. Is there any other method to determine the market potential. The potential buyers for this game would be, retail investors, software professionsla, education and government org. How do i determnie the potential. All that i know is that in general the gaming industry is 10000 Cr market, but this includes fun games.

    How do i determine the no of sales that would hapen for the first 5 years? I need to develop a performa P&L and how do i determine the sales units and at what basis.

    How do i price the product? Considering the fact the awarness in the indian market about serious games is very less. Will i be better off pricing it low and aiming high volume or the other way round.


    Would appreciate if any one can help me out with this.
