    I’d like to create icon-ish buttons. How should I approach this?

    - Should I download pictures, transform them using Photoshop and make them looking like icons?

    - Should pictures be photographs or drawings?

    - Should I draw them from scratch?

    ??? I’ve never really created these things in the past, so I don’t know exactly how I can approach this. I’d greatly appreciate your input on this.

    what exactly do you mean iconish? if it's just buttons with those neat reflections, theres about a million tutorials on that at tutorialized.com;)
    I usually approach it like this, rounded rectangle with bevel blending options
    and a top reflection layer with a gradient layer mask and a clipping mask to make it look glossy
