How do I go about opening 3 pictures in Adobe Photoshop CS3?

Discussion in 'Photoshop' started by cancuncss, May 12, 2008.

I need to open 3 pictures in AP CS3, each in a different layer. I have tried using FILE>OPEN but that only places all the pictures in one single layer called BACKGROUND and it's locked! How do I go about doing it right?

First open all three images .
Now create a new file with size you want.
Now click on any image and drag the image in new file window, the image will be placed as a new layer in the new file.
Do it for other images .

    Hope it helps ;)

    Thanks !

If I get what you are asking, then open all 3 images (it will be 3 different documents)

Then hit F until you can see the windows of all 3

Maximize one, then use the select/marquee tool and select the layer and ctrl C
Then go back to your first one and paste

    Finally repeat for 3rd image

Its a lot easier then it sounds :D

by double clicking on the background layer, you can unlock it (CS2). As for the three images, open them up separatly, and then upon up a brand new canvas the size of which you choose. then drag the respective images onto the new canvas. each image should be on its own canvas. If not, then probably the format of the images is incorrect. hope that helps ;)
