I have a picture of a ball but there is ither stuff around the ball.

How do I isolate the other stuff and just extract the ball so I can use it with another image?

    Thanks

use the magic lasso tool, invert the selection and cut the background... easy ;)

If the ball is round the just use the selection tool, circle the image and copy paste into the new doc.

Or use the magic lasso as mentioned above.

Its dependent on the actual image which will work best.

Magic lasso, and a graphics pen for best results..

Its dependent on the colour contrasts, difficulty of selecting the image etc etc.

I find either using the magic wand and adjusting the Tolerance throughout the process is pretty easy, and if that fails, the extract filter (Filters > Extract) is another goodun.
