Im a bit worried that my CTR is too high. i have 3 blocks of adsense ads + good content on one of my pages and i get consistently around 40% CTR. how can i make visitors click less? i dont want google to ban me for having too high a CTR

LOL most of us would love 40% ctr, but if you want to lower CTR, just take out 1 of the 3 block ads

    thats good to hear!

i currently have a 728x15 link unit along the top, then some content, then 2 336 x 280 large rectangles , then more content under those ads. seems to be producing very high CTRs.

Link units produce higher CTRs because visitors tend to click on more than one ad in the unit. I've had link units that exceeded 100%. Don't worry about; it's normal.

How are placed your two 336x280 blocks? Side to side or one above the other?

As long as the CTR is constant it's usually fine, it's if you a have huge spike from like 1% to 40% it might be cause for worrying.

I can't see how people get constant 20, 30 or 40 or more CTR though. Visitors click ads more than they use your content.

if you have 3 blocks and you have 40% ctr, this means that every pageview you get generates at least 1 click! WOW!

two side to side 336x280 blocks really do good to your ctr, I've tested and approved on a homepage.

    Just start generating impressions yourself.

But if you do it, that’s probably you have sth to hide... So what's the real reason you want to start flying below google radar?

At first I thought it was a typo.. it sure is an attention grabber! :D

I wouldn't worry about your 40% CTR. As long as the clicks are clean.. :)

Either email google or try not to blend the ads too well and remove a block or two.

If i we're you, i would email google and keep the ads there as long as the clicks are natural.
