how do i promote my new social networking site for free?

i created this new social site and i want it to be very successful and the future im thinking about changing th color but one thing i dont know how to get people on the site you can do everything on the site video chat,promote songs talk about your business,blogs,forums and meet new people and more help please and tell me what you thin i should change on the welcome page

How about putting up a promo video on youtube, vimeo and dailymotion?

 

From my experience you should promote of your site on other social network like facebook, twitter, digg, orkut etc. If you can introduce of your new site to other those who have account on different social network except your site then it will great pleasure to you. You have to introduce your site properly that what good things or bad. Try to continue promote of your new site.

It might sound dumb but the best thing is to promote it on other social networks like twitter and facebook. Also you can do forum posting.

 

Well, I dont thing at this stage you should try to promote your site, because it doesnot look completely professional. IMO you should first try to make it look like a social networking site and then think of promoting through various ways like forums and other networking sites.

Keep posting it in as many forums as you could create facebook page , twitter followers and so much things , you will gain a lot of traffic with in a few days.

 

I would say twitter , facebook, and youtube you just got to put your name out there and build a community around your site. but don't spam

If you want to do it for free then you need to work more by yourself, do lots of directory submission and email marketing. and most importantly if you have any facebook fan page then use these to promote to your fan so that people join their and invite their friends to join. hope I will join. ...BoL

 

yes you can promote your website for free. Create Twitter account and face book account and also create facebook fanpage and increase your twitter followers, facebook friends fans and then send updates about your website i am sure many people will join your website you need relevant traffic.

Your social network seems to be inspired on Facebook so the best way to attract members is posting on Facebook links to your site with an interesting story, not just he link.

Create your own profile within your site, if not already, and post on Facebook a link to pictures, videos and other material you have displayed in your social network.

1st you have to submit your site on social sites.
suggestion : install "Add This" Toolbar and use all social sites included in it.

i am sure you will get good response from it..

 

I think it may take some time to get the high number of members you want if you promote free.Why not try doing facebook ad or Google adwords to promote it.
