How do I send a fax via the internet?

I have to communicate with Ryanair but they refuse to provide an email address forcing you to either call an expensive number, fax or write.

I received an email telling me about a flight change which I can't accept.

I can't write because I am in the US and it wouldn't work because it might take too long.

I can't call because it would be too expensive prob, and anyway it's my problem but their fault.

But I could send a fax. Unfortunately I don't have a fax here.

I have internet connectivity, could I use that? Does anybody know?

    Thanks for any help.

I figured out a way to do it last month, you need a scanner to scan in your documents. There's free programs online you can download and run, then plug your phone line into your computer and away you go. I don't know any programs off the top of my head, just search in Google til you come across something. I will search too and let you know if I find anything.

If you're willing to pay, you can get this, there's also a free trial, not sure if it's full featured though. http://www.faxtalk.com/

    Check here too, http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Search/free_fax_software.html

Thank you very much Colleen, I am looking into it.

I would be willing to pay a reasonable price, but I only have to send one for the time being. When I get back home I won't have problems but right now I need to contact them and see if they can change the day of the flight as the new flight time doesn't suit me well at all, I might miss it actually.

    Thanks again for now...

If its a UK number you can buy a calling card at just about any corner shop and call from the US for like .08 per minute. Just in case the fax part doesn't work.

Ryanair is pretty cheeky so it may be better to talk to someone in person and get their name

Thank you yfs1, you apparently know ryanair well.

I think they require you to call a premium rate number, but you're right, on the phone would be better in that sense, but you are not going to have any proof.

The other problem with a phone call is that the flight rescheduling is just one of a few issues I was hoping to address.

There's that and a lost suitcase, recovered after a while and only after having to collect it from the airport because they wouldn't deliver it, and a damaged one. In this case it's my gf's, baggage handlers pulled a wheel off last summer and they didn't reply to our report.

I know that you get what you pay for, but they don't say that when they sell you tickets nor are they all that cheap. So I expect a reasonable service anyway, otherwise the planes should all be grounded, right?

Thanks for your help yfs1, and for any other interesting suggestions I can get!

So far the best options seem to be Colleens second link and call as yfs1 said.

Unfortunately the download of Colleen's suggested software doesn't work. I'll try again tomorrow. In the meantime I got a calling card that in theory would make me spend only a cent per minute. I don't think that will be the case eventually with Ryanair's number, but I'll try and see tomorrow. The others are expensive for my only fax or won't work in my case for various reasons.

But thank you all for your help!:)

(excluding ramakrishna who sounds more obsessed with colleen than else:D )

We are all obsessed with colleeeeeeeen, join the queue!

Efax.com has a free trial. If you cancel before 30 days you won't be charged. I've done it twice.
