How do I value a website that isnt monitized

I've been working on a website for about 15 years... it's not a business site and needs some work to make it look nice and also will never be finished...

It basically lists music videos from YouTube... it's called GBHits (.com and .co.uk)

The problem is online valuations value it at virtually zero because it isn't monetised, but its still had a lot of work put into it

And that is one of the cruel facts of life. Things you value highly won't always be things others value highly. Things that take a lot of effort may not be appreciated.

Those dinky wee cross stitch things people have in their kitchens - do you know how many hours they take? Are they worth all those hours in a financial sense? No. Do they give the stitcher a sense of satisfaction and pride in their work - you'd hope so, right?

The same goes for your site. If it's not earning money then, to someone with no emotional connection, it has no value. There may be an unproven potential to earn but that's different.

So, if you were to sell it you have two choices
    1. delay the sale, monetise the site for a minimum of 3 months, and then sell with a proven history. You'll get a good price but will that price compensate for the additional effort?
    2. sell now, and hope to find a buyer with the foresight and experience to see the potential in the site. You'll get a lower price and will always wonder what you might have sold it for.
or you could just keep it and be proud of what you've achieved.

You could think about modifying it just a little bit more so that it's better optimized and that it contains a better user experience as it will definitely help in obtaining more traffic. The first step in the process of monetizing it is to attract more monthly traffic which you could achieve through some advertising activities where you would promote it, and then you can see which next steps would be. You could either start your journey in affiliate marketing or you could try to collaborate with someone directly on your site. There is also an option for trying to sell some products there, and so on. Eventually, you could even think about selling it completely to someone else if you don't have the time and the will to deal with it, but in both cases, you should put some extra work on it at this moment.
