How do you run your online business while you are traveling?

To enjoy the internet marketing lifestyle I´m planning an extensive traveling with my family around the world. We are going to spend our first 3 months trip to the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia.

I would appreciate very much if you would be interested in sharing your suggestions for how you continue operating your online business while traveling.

I´m very much interested in tips like...
What are the best ways to get internet access in third world countries that have bad internet access?

Are there ways to use your smart phone in other countries - or is it just a brick?

What are the best ways for communicating with people in your home country (I'm in the U.K) while traveling without spending a fortune on phone calls? Perhaps Skype to Skype, but what if the people you want to call don't have a smart phone?

How to use your home-country-based smart phone as a modem for your laptop?

How do you keep track of your passwords when you're using someone else's computer like at an internet cafe?

All tips and suggestions will be very appreciated!

    Thank you very much,
    ramses1

Blackberry works everywhere, also there are international antennas that you can connect to your cell phone and get a connection in the middle of a jungle.

I found the idea with the Blackberry and international antennas very interesting. Do you have any personal experience with it in third world countries?

I currently operate my business from nigeria which ofcourse is a third world countries. You can always get public internet cafe where you can surf from, you have the option of picking a good hotel that offer free internet service or you can find out how to get connected to the internet as soon as you get to your final destination. It just about asking one or two questions.

Thank you for sharing your tips. It’s Easier Than You Think But Planning Is Required. There’s more to traveling with your business than I have covered here, but the most important things are your living conditions, your cost of living, your ability to work while mobile, how independent your business is from you and what technology you need to keep things running. Beyond this, your typical travel advice applies, which there is plenty of online already.

Carry with you... your laptop/notebook if you are putting yourself up in a good 5-star rated hotels. They would surely offer you good and well secured net connections to carry out your activity from the comfort of your own room! :)

Here in the Philippines, we have lots of places where you can access the internet for free, malls, stores, boutiques, food courts. If you have roboform installed in your laptop then its an easy thing to remember all your passwords but it's still advisable to log out of the sites when not in use.

Be careful with Paypal, they will lock your account if you suddenly log in from a different country. You have to speak to them ahead of time to setup a deal where you still can use your account and not risk it being locked for unauthorized access. it becomes locked just for accessing it from different IP address than from your homecountry, so be very careful and make sure they have an agreement and understanding with you that you will be travelling and will be accessing the account from different countries. The same is also good to do with your bank and other financial institutions which have security measures built in.

Thanks for sharing. If I´m in a different country I always use proxies to log into my bank and paypal accounts. I´ve never had any problems.
