How do you sell a message board? Is it worth it?

    Hi,
I've got 2 message boards that I've started. http://www.4clicksgps.com/charlottehunters/ and http://www.4clicksgps.com/uwharrie/. I don't have time for them because of some blogs I also run. I was thinking about just deleting them from my directory but then I thought, maybe they're worth something since each one has a Google Page Rank of 3. I'm not up on these things so here are my questions:
-Since they are a page rank of 3, are they worth anything?
-I didn't buy a domain name for them because I didn't think they would do much. Does that matter?
-If they are worth something, how would I go about selling them? They're hosted over at totalchoicehosting.com.

Your best bet to find the market value is to offer them in appropriate subforum of http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=24

However I don't think they are worth much because the have little users, little posts, and domain name is not coming with them if I understood correctly so the PR thing is also out of consideration - you are basically only offering the phpbb forum database (correct me if I'm wrong).

subseo is right. Sorry to burst your bubble but with no decent domain, few posts and no real user base those forums are wort zero and no serious Webmaster would be interested.

    PS: Welcome to DP btw.

I think people are always interested in taking on existing communities, but without the people a message board loses most of its value.

You can buy people. It's called employment.

I've done a number of four figure and five figure deals for message boards. The value generally is in the community. Setting a price is often done on a multiple of monthly earnings. Not having a domain name for the community hampers the ability to sell it also.
