Any particular holiday in mind? We do really different things, depending on the holiday, of course. Our 4th of July festivities look quite a bit different than our Christmas celebrations.

Oh good point @jrbiz - I was using the English context of holidays - ie using my annual leave while you used the American context which is more like my "Statutory Leave" or the English "Bank Holiday". I wonder which one @SugarTaste meant?

In 5 days I fly to South America for a two week "holiday" but I spent Easter working to make up for a week spent in Melbourne - part "holiday" part family commitments.

You went and let the cat out of the bag. The expression "when the cat's away, the mice will play" will have dire consequences. All the trolls and scammers will have a field day while you are absent.;)

Checking in on the trolls/scammers when on holidays would be considered type A behavior.:)

Ah, I think that your interpretation of the OP was probably correct. Here, annual leave is called vacation. To take this even further down the rabbit hole, many companies here now use an acronym for all time off (sick days, vacation, holidays, personal days) and it is PTO (Paid Time Off.) In fact, my current company does not distinguish between sick days, vacation time, or personal days. You just get the days in one pile from which you draw down over the year without having to explain what they are being used for. So, you can use a "sick" day to go to the beach, if desired, without having to lie about it.

Have fun in S.A. I have distant family in Brazil but the farthest south I have ever been is Mexico and even that was in Tijuana which is at the Northern border with the U.S.

Have not been there in many years and what I hear is that it is no longer safe for tourists, even in the tourist spots.

I just wondered how you spend your holidays but you are right holiday is a comprehensive(idk if this is the right word) word.I didn't mean the special days, i meant weekends and your free days which aren't special.I spend my "holidays" sitting at home, watching movies and doing other things that people do.:)

Okay, now I understand. On weekends and days off, if I do not have things to do with the family or chores around the house, I like to sit in front of the TV and doze the afternoon away. I might watch a movie or a show about UFO's, ghosts, or Big Foot (love that stuff) and I especially like to watch something that I have already seen so if I doze off for a while, I won't miss anything. Sometimes, I will also do a crossword puzzle during TV commercials. If I am not dieting, I will also eat all kinds of great snacks (see the thread in my signature for more info on that.)

It's been a week, thought I'd check in, if only to have this IP on the user map.
    So far:
    • Walking Dead Our World has no content for Cuba
    • Ingress has suspended/banned my account
    • I want to reinstall an app but the App Store says no

On weekend I often visit relatives and play computer games.
