How do you stay focused?

Im really burnt out at the moment, I feel all out of wack and way off track. I used to pump out pages for my websites and do all that was needed to rank well.

Over the last few years I have made a couple of (ok) websites that made some ok money and sold them for good money. Latley I cant do anything right.
All this seo stuff has destroyed my brain lol..

Most of the day i find myself staring at my screen instead of actually working.

How do you guys stay focused and fresh

Set realistic goals. When focused on achieving a goal i am motivated by it, the goal will become more of a priority to me than the day to day chores and i will actually find time for both.

At the end of every day I make a brand new "to do" list. I then divide them into A (most important), B (important), C (if A & B are done). I mark the A's starting with a "1" for the most important, "2" next, etc. When I start to work in the morning I just rip from the top of the list. Works for me.

Burnout. If you're not stuck for money shut down the computer for a week or just the minimum you need to.

Otherwise its about finding motivation again. Making lists, re-focusing on exactly what you what out of your websites, getting rid of sites that no longer interest you, setting deadlines for completing tasks, bragging to people so that you have to then go and do the work - do what ever it takes.
Personally, I find taking a night off here and there does wonders. If you don't have the inspiration one day (or week) don't sweat it. Do some of the mundane stuff - link building, finding content, coding, tweaking sites etc.

some really good advice in there people. I had another late night staring at the computer last night think its time for a holiday :) might take till monday off...

I think what it is, is im just going around in circles with my sites. Its so frustrating cause everything i have done in the past is just not working this time round.
My main project for the last 6months has been www.ug2.com but I just dont seem to be getting anywhere with it. Stats are shocking compared to similar sites i have done in the past. Im really starting to think that keyword domain names are way better.

Its funny cause when i look back I have never been able to work on just 1 site. I think thats my big problem, might be time to clean my domain closet :(

Take a break, do something completely different not associated to work that you really enjoy. Your brain sounds like it needs some down time.

May be your problem like I had, difficult to focus because there are too many to read different information.

I stay clean, and don´t focus on things that happened in the past, and meditate.

Nice topic and better replies. Repped some of them.
Whenever I am in such situation, I take vacation. Especially in a place completely void of communication.

Take a break, mix up the tedium and build rewards into your schedule, so if you do something you don't like then let yourself do somehting you like better :)
