How Do You Track Revenue?

Discussion in 'General Business' started by PalSys, Oct 12, 2006.

I'm currently using a crazy array of Excel spreadsheets in a weak attempt to keep track of every penny, but it just isn't cutting it.

Is anyone aware of any software, server side or not, that works as a sales tracker for varied products?

I guess you are talking about ROI in online advertising probably, if so the ROI in online advertisement is significantly much higher than actual sales tracked by any software.

I have to think that there's a version of Quick Books that could do this for you since so many people use that for tracking small business accounting. Worth a look...

I'm not talking about anything like that. I'm looking for a software solution to track all revenue made by my company.

I've tried quickbooks, it's works well, but I'd like to find something a little more geared towards hosts and other internet service providers.

If it costs $200, why would anyone have it free? If you're looking for warez, this isn't the spot.

Thanks for the access idea, I may look into that!

I used MS Money a while back, it was effective untill I started to expand my business, I can just have a new table made in excel in about 5 seconds, setting up new account with MS Money takes a lot longer. I ended up noticing that a majority of the time I was using the program I was using it to actually prepare to enter data, or prepare to display data, as apposed to actually entering and analyzing excel data.

Microsoft Excel is a lot mroe then just tables to keep data organized, it had great graphiing capabilities, and the beauty of it is its fast, really fast.

Well the thing is, tdnetworks, it totally depends on your business. If you wan't the best spreadsheet you should just customize it to your business yourself. It doesn't take too long and is definitely worth it.
