How does Wordpress as a Press Release site work?

I would like to know how does wordpress work for a press release site. If there is a better/easier platform to handle than WP, please suggest from your experience. This is mainly because the content generated will be by users (of course published after moderation).

Basically, this is what I would like to know, since I am not looking at automating the moderation.
    • I am unable to judge whether Joomla/Drupal will be better and easier than WP
    • Not sure whether a ready script would be economical, good and available too.

Additionally, any thoughts on the economics of owning a PR site would help.

I find WP the best CMS to work with...
And, as for Press Release...it all depends on the theme...Wordpress could work as simple as a blog, or as complex as a news site

I'm interested in using WP to set up a PR site also.

Did you have any luck with this?

I am struggling to find the right paypal/payment system to charge people to submit a PR.... any help would be appreciated.

Nothing serious, really. Although I asked for technicalities in the beginning, I have also emphasized my need to get as much information on the economics of running this kinda sites before making a decision. I could even find a free or buy a dedicated script instead of reinventing the wheel but I wouldn't jump into it before I am sure of profit potentials of it for a small operator!
