How far do you commute?

Chris lives in Dunedin, New Zealand and travels 20,000 Km (12,000 miles) to work as a police officer in London, England.

I know the commute for a lot of you is from bed to the computer, but for those that have other jobs, how far do you commute?

I used to commute 50KM and it took 1 -1 1/2 hours, with the worst being 4 hours, but got fed up and moved closer to work. Now it takes only 5 - 7 minutes, saving me 10% of my life.

Rob only has to go 4 miles (seven minutes) to work.

It's great but sometimes I get bored and take a longer way via the expressway just so I can open up my car and drive fast.

It used to be 10 yards, now it's just 2 yards. When I have to hit the comany HQ it's about 3 miles; a 10-20 minute drive. As far as I can remember I've never had a regular job more than 5 miles away from where I've lived.

Glad you're saving 10% of your life when there's also another (supposed) 33% of it sleeping :)

You moved the computer into the bed room?

And it's not a fun 10%, I really hated traffic, not to mention the gas burnt.

LOL, nope. When I split with my ex I shifted to the sofa-bed in my studio ;) When I've bought her out and she moves out I'll go back to the bedroom again.
And with UK gas hitting nearly GBP1.00 a litre I wouldn't want to commute in this country either.
Agreed, taking the long route to thrash the motor... aw bliss.
YTF does it take you 6 hours too move that "far" dude? You out of it or something? LOL

Am employed but working from home (mostly, I do visit customers sometimes). I've just moved all my stuff in with my girlfriend (again ), last six months I've had my "office" in my own apartment and lived (95% of the time) in her apartment.

Nice to have everything in one place and only one place to call home. Will not miss saying things like "I'm leaving home now, I should be home in about 20 min's" and actually mean two different places.

Miss the 20 min bike ride to and from that place though.

lol, now that is funny. Im listening to him as I type. ;) I disagree with a lot of his stuff because he puts his religion in front of everything he says but his politics are spot on.

Anyways, sounds like your drive isnt too bad.
