In the spirit of the previous thread posted concerning whether you get more wet while walking in the rain or running.("a question I have pondered"). I am curious as to how fast you are moving when standing still on the face of the earth?

You are currently moving 100,000 km per hour, around da sun.

Next question: How fast does the sun move? Then how fast does the milk-e-way move. Then how fast does the universe move!! :D:D:D:D

Bah!!! A wacko can run a mile in about eight minutes....er could back in da high sckool days. There for a wacko runs 7.5 MPH, before running in to the wall. (Add the earth answer for a more correct speed!!)

just the speed of the earth rotation at the equator would be in excess I think of 15-18 thousand mph. And that would be added to the speed of the Earth orbit around the sun if on one side of the earth or subtracted if on the other. Plus the speed of our galaxys rotation plus the speed of the theoretical expansion of the universe. Probably many more factors I could never fathom. I think the eventual question is.. Are we matter or light or both? Its all relative...

ok it my bad! The earth has a circumference of 24,000 miles so the speed of movement at the equator would only be 1000 mph. Thats before factoring in the other movements of the sun and galaxy and Universe. I folowed Nintendo`s link aqnd found another article here...
