How long it will take to get related ads?

One of my friend just launced a health/beauty realted site. Before buying the domain she was running it from an other domain and the ads were well targetted. right now it all sucks with this new domain. ads on the homepage arent related + second ads are just blank!

How long wiould it take to see the right ones, just like we used to see on the other domain.

On a brand new site it can take a day or two.
If the site is not indexed at all then it takes a bit of time.

But I would guess by now you already have targeted ads.

    It should be instant.

Do you have the URL we could look at?

To share my experience, the content-related ads appeared almost instantly. My pages were just 15 days old when I applied the site for approval. The irrelevant ads were seen just once. Second attempt to view the site immediately showed "content-related" ads. You may visit http://freeideas.bizhat.com to view the size of the pages and amount of the contents.

Can't say for sure without looking at the site, but another reason for ads that are not relevant is the page is not optimized for the right keywords or there is insufficient text for Google to base the adds on.

    Nice site b.j.

I can’t see anything that would trigger the ASP .NET and databases although I do see you have no keywords or a description in the heads tags - maybe this could be the cause? I also have a Blog with no keyword or description head tags but the ads are still relevant to the Blog.

Try banning the ASP .NET and database urls in your Adsense account and see what ads are triggered.

Exactly. With emphasis on "this is a blog i've launched 2 days ago". Your blog is new, Google hasn't even indexed you yet, so you need to give them time to crawl your site and send you relevant ads. Until then, you'll have nothing but blog and hosting ads. Even when they start crawling you, you'll still get old ads for posts you made days or weeks ago. When Google starts crawling you every day, that's when you'll get instantly relevant ads. Blogs, especially, takes time.

thanks for advices. i wonder why it only genreates irrelevant ads for main pages. i think it needs to be indexed fully before related ads, but i also mailed google that why only my main page is showing irrelevant ads, i hope they send a useful reply :D

Looking at your site and its still not showing relevant ads.

I tend to disagree that it has anything to do with Google indexing the site - I can launch a new site and have relevent ads served.

Chitika is also showing me ads for Fridge Magnets but only on the same main page as with the Google Ads problem - very strange as I see your Chitika keywords are cosmetics etc.

I don't want to steal your thread B.J. but I am having the same problem at Humorzilla. On the main page, it will show all the ads in there respective areas. ie 3. However, when you view a joke, it doesn't show in the advertzilla part. If you refresh it however, it may pop up. Anyone got any idea how to fix this?

Simply your website has not indexed yet so Google mostly will display ads based on page title and page name

And your site was created by asp.net (i guess with Web Matrix) so your pages names extensions must be aspx so Google will display ads related with Microsoft Technologies
