    Hello Everyone,

I am willing to earn money by selling advertisements on my website. I want to know how many banner or text advertisements can I sell on my site so that Google does not see any problem in it.

    Thank You

Google generally goes with 3 ads per page as allowable.

I wouldn't take advice on how many ads are alowable I see some websites with 5 some with 2 etc...

I would probably not go with more than 4 though or you may ruin the look of your site. Matt Cutts said in his Google blog a few years ago, that if you have advertising sections in your website, try to label them where possible. Especially if this stuff is text links, google will know they are adverts and you are not selling links for SEO

you can have as many as you want =)
I saw one Czech website that had its homepage covered with banners lol.

However, it's commonly accepted to have no more than 4.

Best combination that I saw so far is 3 banners +1 widget.

Try not to scare off your visitors as they are your most important asset. If visitors stop appearing because of too many ads, you have a problem.

That's why you have only 3 banners + 1 widget.

Widget ads don't look like ads.

Banners can also be good-looking and if you keep one on top, one on side, and one in footer - it will be just fine.

I think you should stick to no more than 2 'stand out' ads. From there you can throw in a bunch of non-obtrusive ads; in-content link outs, email collection forms, promoting your own product in content (leads to sales later), etc. bombarding your site with ads is going to give it a very commercial feel, and that's when you get people who hit the back button immidietly upon landing on your site.

2 are too few if you have a large & complex website.

Also, you have to keep in mind that there are different sizes and shapes of the banner, so having couple of 728x90 will take much more space than 4 88x31 banners...

It really all depends on your site. However, you do not want to pack your site with ads. You can use a directory site, and put a bunch up though.

Google does not mind you sell links as long as you put nofollow tag on them...

I guess you have to ask not "how many", but "to whom".
3 or 4 places don't matter much, if you have placed many competing tags and always make the best CPM for your views. 1 ad space bought by a targeted campaign related to your website's theme, may bring more income than 4 adsense spots.

Anymore than 2 or 3 and Google will penalize you in their search results.
