I currently run 3 websites. 2 websites were started in 2003 after I took a HTML College course. Both websites were labs I had to complete for credit. The 3rd website and my blog was started in 2006. This year I transferred all 3 domains to 1&1 who also hosts all 3 webites. I took advantage of a promotion they had earlier this year for hosting 3 websites for $5 for 6 months.

I'm on my 4th one now and my first one that will bring some cash in. (crosses fingers) Now that I know HOW to make money on sites I'll be making LOTS more. Might average 2 a year since I usually build them from scratch.

I own four websites, 9 blogs, and 2 message boards. I know the feeling about having a difficult time keeping up, plus doing work for other people.

Seems a few plan to have 100 plus aites. Personally I think that's far too many, as you lose focus on updating your sites (unless off course you have some people working with you/ helping you).

That can be true, but I have seen people automate their sites (particularly blogs) and make money through a good flow of clickable traffic.

The 5 that I presently own and have original content on are more than enough to manage. Until I graduate from college again...

I started with 1 blog - simplekindoflife.com years ago. Then I decided to do the 3-Day walk for breast cancer, and decided it was blog worthy. Then I joined PayPerPost and started monetizing those blogs, and decided more would be good.

I'm up to 7 now, and I think that's it for me. I work a full time job and have kids and a husband, and my time is limited.

I have 60+ live sites and plan about 250 by years end.

I have 10 domains and plan to run about 25-30 sites off each one as subdomains when I get it all built out. The ten names cost about 80$ per year, hosting good for multiple domains about $100 per year with plenty of disc space and bandwidth.

    Well into the black.

I have 3 - 2 of which have pages in the thousands and I have spent alot of time on, the 3rd is a distraction really but I think it has potential. Personally I think its better to have a few really good sites than dozens of mediocre ones.

I own about 15 domains, about 10 actual sites, and only 1 site that I update on a daily basis, but I'm working on a couple more that will be updated constantly.

I don't like the idea of hosting so many sites on the same hosting account. A few is fine but not too many.
