How Much Are You Willing To Pay For Quality Content?

    Hi Everybody,

I need to adjust the fees on my site. I write keyword content. I have a fee scale in mind, but would like feedback first.

    What would you pay for:
    single 250-325 word article?
    single 326-425 word article?
    single 426-525 word article?
    single 526-625 word article?

    ten 250-325 word articles?
    ten 326-425 word articles?

    twenty 250-325 word articles?

    Thank You,
    Merry

for 500 I charge 25$ when I am writing. I try to go more easy with the customer and a few words dont matter.

this thread should help you out
    ;)
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=10510&highlight=content

I think the main problem for us, content writers and content firm owners, is that most people are far more interested in buying cheap content rather than quality content. They would rather go to rentacoder.com and get 50 articles for $100 than hire professionals to do the job right. Professional writers do eat and do have to pay the bills, especially if you are a fulltime writer.

I have to disagree with you. Of course, the cheap jobs are the easiest to find. But I know people who charge thousands for one or more pages and they are actually selecting their clients, not the other way. It is just all about the market that you are after. If you are after the cheap content market, that's all you will get.

Yeah, I just don't understand discussing things like that unless it's dis-information to create dissent and doubt.

    But nothing is impossible.

I think maybe you should steer us in the right direction. We would all love to be paid that much for quality content. :D

Yeah, for sure. For that kinda money I know my composition skills exceed alot of what I read these days. It's just not what I care to be doing.

But for 1K, I know I could out research and out write even the best of them on one page.

Yeah, if I could get that much for one page, I could save my fingers and brain a lot of extra work on a daily basis. ;)

I wrote articles for a magzine for a dollar a word a few years ago. The editor was after my domain expertise, not writing skills.

If you want to make decent money on writng, you have to write for print publications.

My previous post was about content writing in general. Such high rates are for writers who write texts for direct mailing and newsletters where the text goes to tens if not hundreds of thousands of people and even small differences in the conversion rate mean big difference in sales. That is was just a general example, but you can easily apply it to specifics of the internet world:

Say I have a site with 100 visitors per day, 1% conversion rate for a product and net income $20 from that product. If someone would write a better text on that page that would result in 2% conversion rate, I would get $20 more per day so you can imagine how much I would share with such writer and how happy I would actually be to not to pay $5 but hundred times more.

All was meant just to provide a different perspective on the content writing. Actually one of possible perspectives.

    Hi guys,
I am new on this board.
What exactly i need is content for gift ideas and party tips.

Party tips should be nicely structured and should cover almost all party occasions.

You can blend gift ideas along side party tips or can come up with a new set of article/articles on gift ideas sepeartely.

I need it in english, should be keyword rich and search engine friendly.

I am developing a website for event planning.
please look at my website at http://www.ebulawa.com

I so agree with this. In the past year I've had to keep lowering my rates in order to keep up. Many of those looking for content don't care much about what's written so long as they have a backdrop for their AdSense. People who have no business calling themselves writers are selling content for $2 and $3 for 500 words. How can I compete with that?

Lately I've been selling my articles for $10 and $15. A couple of years ago this would have been unheard of, now I have no choice if I want to keep up.

Denbg: perhaps you are after the wrong part of the market. Why do you want to compete with those writing for Adsense? It is so simple: serve different part of the market. There are many many different markets within what some only perceive as writer's market.

Also: Packaging. Branding. Coming with new products. That all will help you alot.

I wouldn't ever buy content, I prefer writing my own. However, I would probably sell articles 500-1,000 words at $25-50 depending on the context.

you know not to be dick but I am glad content writers are getting the same treatment, as web designers and programmers (like me)

I rememeber people wanting $75 to write a short page.

I'm personally charging $50 for the content described on this post: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=63483

Do you guys think this is too little? I decided on this to go for the low price, lots of sales approach.

There's quite a lot of content there. I wrote all the articles (obviously), recorded the audio and created the images myself.

    Feedback would be great! :)
