How much do i pay for 9000 email ids?

Here is the thing...i know this person who owns a forum whos members are kinda related to my market. He has agreed to give me the email ids of his 9000+ forum members
Now, how much do you guys think i should pay for this? and apart from the obvious use(send non-spam, only major announcements about my site to drive traffic), can you'll think of the ways i can use this?
Is it worth buying these users or is it a stupid move?

I wouldn't buy these lists.. because ending e-mail to them would be considered as spam, even though you said they're just announcements about your site, it's still unwanted.

 

i m curious if they were non-active members...you'll get nothing at the end. pls check on it

 

That is a great risk also.

If you are considering purcashing this still (I recommend you don't) check and see if the forum verifies each e-mail after registration to avoid fake e-mails..

 

If the forum says that it will not give out the email of a registered user, then you and the forum owner could wind up in court for illegal distribution of email addresses...and 9000 could make you seriously bankrupt...

 

those mail list users may consider your mails as spam or the one that don`t worth attention, buy only if they are all active users, then the traffic may be really generated, if not, then this will be 0 dollar investment
