I'm not talking about blogrolls or links, I'm talking about buying an entire site from someone. What are the general prices for:

    PR5
    PR6
    PR7
    PR8
    PR9

    Thanks

The higher the PR the higher the price just because of that, but otherwise sites are typically sold for 6-10 times their monthly income. Buying a site just because of PR, such as a 5 can easily run into the thousands.

There are four common types of web design pricing used in the industry today.

    • Hourly Rate
    • Project Price
    • Package Rates
    • Per Page Cost

Hi pianopro11. PageRank has got nothing to do with ranking high in the Google search, its got to do with determining link popularity. Google PageRank is the most misunderstood and misused metric when it comes to analyzing sites. This is what Google have to say about PR. "We only update the PageRank displayed in Google Toolbar a few times a year; this is our respectful hint for you to worry less about PageRank, which is just one of over 200 signals that can affect how your site is crawled, indexed and ranked. PageRank is an easy metric to focus on, but just because it's easy doesn't mean it's useful for you as a site owner."Further more they go on to say. "We've been telling people for a long time that they shouldn't focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it's the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true. We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it"So don't be fooled by high PR sites, PR plays a very minor part in how Google will determine the best rank for your website, optimization is still the name of the game. Do yourself a favor and check their rankings by simply typing in there main keywords. Regards, knysna.

It really depends -- PR is rarely (if ever) the sole determinant of how much a site is worth.

As others said, it depends. PR is only a small factor. It depends on the domain name (if it's a .com, good keyword(s), short etc), how much visitors is the site getting (and from where), if it's making any money (and how much). Usually, if the site is monetized, the average price equals 12-24 month income. You can check Flippa to see what kind of sites sold for how much.

Traffic, Alexa and PR matters on a site. But it depends on the area and site owner.
